Tension in the Air
Every September, Las Plumas and Oroville High Schools go head to head to see who will possess the Victory Bell for the next year. Right now, the prized possession is on the Las Plumas Campus—after last year’s game with a score of 28-0. The question is, will Las Plumas keep the brass trophy—or will Oroville snatch it back.
This is an event that actually involves the entire town. Even long-time graduates get in the “rival” spirit. With only 22 days left until the big game, excitement is mounting as residents prepare for the momentous night.
Game day occurs the same weekend as the Salmon Festival and will include a pre-game tri-tip dinner. Tickets for the dinner are $15.00 and can be purchased at high school football games, the Superintendent’s Office, or from OASIS members. The dinner will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Harrison Stadium.
