NASA LADEE launch from NJ Shore

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Science teacher MikeBlack photographed the NASA LADEE launch from the Spring Lake New Jersey beach on September 6. He describe the launch as eerie. 'It was very quiet, like a slow moving fire going up and out over the Atlantic. It's amazing to know that vehicle has to get to well past the 17,500 mph needed for orbit, and this needed the velocity to escape Earth's gravity, like the Apollo moon missions,' he said.
