This iReport is part of an assignment:
Everything Has an Order to it
While America is against going into Syria, and with very good reason; the paramount issues surrounding the Syrian issue pertains mainly to the fact that, America is not; and does not want to be considered the “World’s Police.”
America is one of many countries that make up the entire world. No country is perfect and none will ever be perfect. There are specific laws set down to make the world a safer place to live in and this is the issue. But even with the safety laws being an issue there are still major protocols and procedures that must be taken; and these often times take time.
Several times now President Obama indicated in his speeches that the United Nations is either ineffectual or unable; presumably lacking necessary equipment, manpower, technical capabilities, etc., to do their job properly. This is the travesty.
Because of the technology today the world that seemed so large and vast twenty and thirty years ago is much smaller today. Because of the Internet people can communicate all over the world from their own homes. Airplane travel and boat travel that once took days, weeks and months to travel from one country to another now takes hours or days; depending on lay-over’s. So, why is it that the United Nations that is so vital to the safety of the world lacks in the necessary things to keep the world safer?
Scientists, technology, machines and so on should be provided by all of the major players of the United Nations; and others. Those nations that hold permanent seats on the United Nations should be providing the United Nations with what the U.N. needs to do the job it was designed to do. I am not talking weapons here. I am talking about up-dated equipment that would tell the U.N. everything possible down to the exact components of whatever was used in what country that killed people. The ability to utilize satellites so as to visually see exactly what is going on in the world at any given time as a whole, and ultimately the manpower to keep vigilance on the nations; specifically all of the hot spots. Not to take action, but to be able to produce actual intelligence to the Nations in the U.N.
The United Nations should always be neutral; taking no sides. The United Nations should be an information center for the world; to provide a safer world to live and travel in. If the United Nations is handicapped it is because the major players of the world is keeping the U.N. that way; America included.
Each Nation has a responsibility to also keep a vigil on other countries as well so that when they do go before the United Nations with concerns their information can be compared to the information the U.N. has and decisions can be made from that point. This is not a “Big Brother” thing, but a way to means to obtain safety within our world.
