100 Ways to Travel Better: Your tips
- Jareen, CNN iReport producer
Anytime I travel abroad, I remember that prices are not always set in stone. I bargain with small businesses and vendors in order to get the best prices when I’m away. Bargaining was not something that I was used to doing in America, but I quickly learned that it’s a great way to get more for less. I’ve cut deals everywhere from Christmas markets in France, to souqs in the Middle East, and even small water sports companies have offered deals. On a recent weekend getaway to Abu Dhabi, I got an extra hour of free jet skiing, and I saved on a handmade silk scarf and statue. You won’t always save a lot with one vendor, but the more you shop and do while on vacation, the more you will get for your money. It all adds up in the end.
