This iReport is part of an assignment:
Bloody Civil Wars
The only difference between the American Civil War and Syrian’s Civil War is the use of Chemical Weapons and the high powered riffles used today in comparison. Take the Chemical Weapons out of the equation and let them have their Civil War .just as America had theirs. Stop telling other countries what is best for them if you don’t live there.
The only assistance to any other country should be given once a country is stabilized; and then it should only be to assist in helping that country with irrigations for farming and ranching; ideas for waste and trash disposal within their country and maybe ideas for industrial options. No country will be respectful or proud of their accomplishments if they don’t do the work themselves. Even then the assistance should only be given if they want the help; assistance should never be forced on any country.
Civil Wars are fought to define what the country stands for. The American Civil War defined the American way of life and began the Free Nation. Because of the multitude of lost lives during any war; diplomatic strategies should always take precedence.
When, as in this case; Chemical Weapons are involved the rest of the world must step in and say that is unacceptable. America has done this with Syria. It is unfortunate that it took America to threaten to attack Syria and take action to that intention before anybody else would step up to the plate and step in. This is in fact a matter for the United Nations to handle and the U.N. has dropped the ball. The United Nations should have stepped into this mess when it was first known that Chemical Weapons were being used period; the U.N. did not do this. What good are the signatures of countries stating that no Chemical Weapon is allowed if the other countries do not stand by their own agreements? What good is a United Nations if it does not do its job?
The American people are tired of fighting and of wars, but we will defend ourselves if that becomes necessary; even within our own country. We will defend what we stand for; total equality, freedom of speech, freedom of religion and the right to bear arms just to name a few. Know this; the American people will not stand for Chemical Warfare or Terrorism. Deliberate, indiscriminate mass destruction of life, no matter how one wraps it in webs of deceit and labels it; is obscene murder.
Every country is entitled to their Civil Wars, but when it involves other nonparticipating countries or presents clear and present danger to other countries is when the United Nations must step in. America is not the only major player, but America is certainly made to appear to be the bad ass.
