CNN PRODUCER NOTE WSC93 shot this time-lapse (and normal speed) footage with his roommate as they walked down to Boulder Creek: 'Sirens have been on and off all night and day giving the local setting a very eerie tone. At the creek, people gathered on the bridges to spectate and observe the rapids and oncoming water flow. At approximately 11:37 this morning the CU ALERT system sent a message saying, "Wall of water coming down Boulder Canyon. STAY AWAY FROM BOULDER CREEK. Seek higher ground immediately." This was a very spooky way to start the day, but it sure didn't stop me or any of those other onlookers. I have been affected very minimally, and i am thankful for that. I live up on the hill where there's no water build up. Policemen have been hectically scurrying around town all day, but there's not much they can do other than encourage people to move to higher grounds. Personally, i think the students here are loving the weather. With two days of school cancelled, there will surely be some adventure-seekers looking to have some fun in the next couple of days. As always though, safety first.'
