60th annual Georgetown Hot Rod Hill Climb
Hundreds of people gather in the historic mining town of Georgetown, Colorado to watch the 60th annual celebration of an event known as the Georgetown Hot Rod Hill Climb. Racers first present their beautiful, well crafted vehicles before racing full throttle up Guanella Pass Road. Merchandise and hands-on activities can also be found at this event.
"In 1953 and 1954 local racing associations and hot rod clubs tuned up and showed up at the base of an old wagon route to prove who had the best combination of hands, right foot, and motor! On September 14th, 2013 the mountain comes alive once again with the sound of uncapped vintage motors rocketing up the twisty switchbacks on Guanella Pass Road."
