Here in Budapest, there are not only historic sites, great eateries, amazing museums and galleries, entertaining theaters, relaxing bathhouses and beautiful parks, but also, you will find the remnants of a what makes a true city-the people and places, both fortunate and not so, which make up the fabric of a place. Some things are unavoidable, like decaying architecture, attitudes that conflict, litter, crowded streets, youthful indiscretions and people who are just getting by. The truth is, there is no perfect city, and the closer you look, the more you come to understand it. I think that Budapest is one of the greatest cities in the world. It is like many others, a city of contrasts. New and old, quaint and quirky, its history and future coexist in the present as if time has stood still and the inevitable motion of life is ever-churning around it.
