    Onion Price in India

Onion Prices in India are rising.
Went up beyond the reasonable levels.

Political parties are having fun playing the standard blame-game.

Why can not we provide a solution?

Hardly one percent of the people need them for medical-reasons. Meaning, at least 99 percent of the people have a choice to buy or not-to-buy.

    Here is a simple solution:
Do not buy Onions from Oct 1st to Oct 10th.
    What happens?
demand drops down, and hence, price will come down.
It is fair for every one since, people who need them for medical-reasons can buy them and they are not that many needy people.
All others can avoid buying/using them for 10 days in india. That solves the problem for this year 2013.

Media such as CNN has the capacity to publicize the date(s) in-advance to let the public participate.

People have proven their capacity by being groups which resulted in punishing the rapists in Delhi.

People should become active-citizens and achieve what they want in a legal manner.

What is wrong with this approach ?
