Navy Yard shooting
A Call to Action
I haven't been around very long but in my short time here on this earth I have seen more pain and sadness then any human being should have to see in a lifetime. Fort hood, Aurora, Tuscon, Newtown, Washington, and that's not even mentioning the thousands upon thousands of people that have died in gun related incidents in the past ten years. How can we let this go on? After another shooting today I almost cannot feel anymore sadness, instead all I feel is anger. Anger with this country that can not put aside their differences to end gun violence once and for all and by doing that save countless lives. But this anger is soon replaced with hopelessness. How can our congress fix anything when in the light of all this sadness the only thing I can see is petty politicians fighting over the budget and our presidents bedside manners. How can they save us when they appear to have become numb to our pain. The family's who have suffered today due to the shooting in Washington will never be able to forget this tragedy but you can bet that by the next time a bill related to guns is on the table, congress will have already forgotten all the pain felt on this day. We can't let them forget America, we must force them to take action. Your congressmen answer to YOU. We must put our differences aside now and demand action. Whether that action be to enforce stricter gun laws or to arm every civilian in the nation, it does not matter. What does matter is that somebody breaks the gridlock in our government and acts. Because the way things are now there will be no action at all and that will not save your loved ones from a bullet. Call for action, any action, just let your congressmen know that if something is not done they will pay for it. We will no longer let our people pay with their lives for our politicians stubbornness. So write letters and make phone calls. Let's end the slaughter together.
