Mayfield Announces Academic Scholarships worth AED 60,000 for Islamic Banking Programs
Mayfield University announced a huge investment in its Islamic banking and finance programs, offering students scholarships for its 2013 fall semester.
Sep 17, 2013 - Mayfield University today announced a significant investment in its Islamic banking and finance programs. Gray S. Bell, Communications Director at Mayfield affirmed the news, confirming the addition of new funds and announcing AED 60,000 worth academic scholarships for students interested in pursuing education in the Islamic banking programs. The scholarships range up to $15,000 and offer a fee waiver of 75% on course fee. With this initiative, the university aims to facilitate low and middle-income students, allowing them continue their education without the hassle of financial constraints.
“The scholarship endorsement is applicable to all our degree, diploma and certificate courses,” proclaimed Bell, “We are hoping to make a notable expansion in the education industry by offering affordable packages and aim to increase the student enrollment ratio which has declined tremendously during the last few years.”
The project is currently being funded by Mayfield University itself and will support all incoming as well as continuing students, starting from the fall semester of 2013. Mayfield University launched this program as part of their Student Facilitation plan, offering a range of financial aid packages to needy and deserving students on annual basis.
In order to keep up with the rising market demand, Mayfield University’s Business School introduced an extensive range of specialized online Islamic banking courses at the beginning of the academic year of 2013. The program was well received by students and working adults alike, and accepted a record number of enrollments soon after its launch. As one of the fastest emerging areas of finance in the Middle East, Mayfield’s Islamic banking program aimed to increase financial literacy and have since dramatically improved the employability rate in the region.
