Tell us the Good Stuff!
Young Girls Helping Animals In Need
My 9 year old daughter and two of her friends decided to do something to help Alaqua and the animals. The three 4th graders at Bay Elementary decided to combine their 10th Birthday Parties and asked that instead of receiving presents for themselves, they asked that invited kids bring cash and animal toys and leashes for the animals at Alaqua.
They decided they wanted to do a SUP (stand up paddleboard) party to make sure they had a lot of kids attend.
The party was a huge hit with 30 kids attending and they raised $351.00 and lots of toys and supplies for the animals. The girls went to Alaqua Animal Refuge this past Sunday and presented the money and gifts and took a tour of the refuge.
Alaqua posted their photo and what the girls did on their Facebook page and they have received a lot of positive feedback.
I have included a photo of the girls at Alaqua delivering the presents as well as the party invitation. We also have video and photos from the party and their Alaqua visit if needed.
I think it would be great for these young ladies to get recognized for their selfless act of kindness and who knows they may inspire others to do the same.
Let me know if you would like to do a story.
