The View from Montparnasse Tower
"La plus belle façon d'aimer Paris!" (The best way to love Paris!)
The brochure of Tour Montparnasse makes this claim. So I decided to see if it was true. The elevator brought me to the 56th floor and then I took a flight of stairs to the 59th floor and I was welcomed by a 360 degree panorama of beautiful Paris. From one angle I saw the shadow cast by Montparnasse tower on the buildings and gardens below (photo 1). And in the east there was the Eiffel Tower (2). The Montparnasse Cemetery (3) was also prominent. I saw familiar monuments and spots and zoomed in: Sacre Coeur (4), Arc de Triomphe (5), Place de Concorde (6), Les Invalides (7), Boulevard Saint Germain (8), Notre Dame de Paris (9) and Centre Georges Pompidou (10).
Every angle was breathtaking. The brochure's boast may be subject to dispute, but for one who already loves Paris, seeing the city from above makes him love it all the more.
