    Geography Lesson for Palin

I hate to beat a dead Moose, but Palin's assertion that Russian leaders fly over Alaska when they go to the US is silly.  And not because the Republicans were trying to say that this gives her Foreign Policy experience (you know, when Putin rears his head).  But it is silly because the Russians don't even come close to Alaska when coming to America.

The heart of Russia is 12 times zones away from Alaska.  They don't east fly 9,000 nautical miles to Alaska, wave to Sarah Palin, then fly another 4,000 miles to Washington.  They fly east for 3,500 miles loop over Greenland and come down the Eastern Seaboard.

Anyway, now that she has proven she can walk and chew gum at the same time in the debate, this is probably old hat.  But I thought it should be pointed out.  She no longer has this "flyover" Foreign Policy experience.
