O. J. Simpson was convicted tonight in Las Vegas on 12 counts related to a robbery at a sports memorabilia show held at the Palace Station Casino and Hotel last September.

The judge who presided over the trial set a sentencing date of December 5th at 9:00 a.m. to pronounce the length of the sentence O. J. and his friend C. J. Stewart will have to serve. Both were convicted on all 12 counts each was charged with and there are mandatory minimum sentences of 2 years on some of the counts. The judge is known as a "stiff sentencing" judge here in Las Vegas as was attested to by her remanding both into immediate custody.

An area attorney who had visited the area of the jail where O. J. will be spending the night tonight visited that area last week and Clark County officials had already prepared separate cells for each in an otherwise crowded jail facility.

O. J. will be under mandatory suicide watch in an individual cell for 24 hours. Tonight he is sleeping in a thirty square foot cell, wearing a paper prisoner outfit.

This conviction comes 13 years to the day after being acquitted of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman In Los Angeles.

The verdict was reached by the jury after 13 hours of deliberations.

Surely, if he ever gets a chance, O. J. Simpson will not be placing a Roulette bet on number 13.
