This iReport is part of an assignment:
Time to Strike a Deal
Russia, China nor Assad want the USA to use military pressure to insure Assad does what he is supposed to do; let them incur the price tag for the operation. That will buy them the backing away of USA’s military offensive. However, as punishment for the war crimes the USA and its allied forces deploys medical and food aid to all refugees outside of Syria while cutting off all aid to Syria itself; all the while holding Russia liable and solely responsible for the completion of the chemical weapons being removed and disposed of. Russia wants the credit; let them have it along with all the responsibility that goes along with it.
If or when the United Nations decides to act on the War Crimes committed, which should be done through the United Nations and not a one on one scenario then and only through the UN should the decision be made. All within the UN should be made to accept the UN’s decision.
In order for the United Nations to be affective in the world it must take up its responsibilities in the world. It too must make decisions they may wish to remain neutral on, but given the responsibility of the United Nations that luxury is not always available. The United Nations should be the one encouraging the making of such deals as I just stipulated above. Do I think for one minute anybody would listen to me on any of these things; I’m no fool. Of course nobody would take me seriously in the Government circles. It does not mean that I can’t state my opinions or my ideas or those of my readers.
Am I saying that the United States of America should not be prepared for battle should it actually break down to that; certainly not. But it is this reporter’s opinion that the USA should not be held financially responsible for another country’s actions. Every country in the world knew and knows that chemical weapons and any weapons of mass destruction are deemed outlawed; and for very excellent reasons too.
Quite frankly the American people are tired of flipping the bill for all of these other countries that claim we owe them. We don’t owe Syria anything and we the people do not want to pay Syria for anything or pay for anything regarding Syria. The American people are as appalled at what has been going on in Syria as the American people are at the American Government for their continuing disregard for its people’s wishes. The American people don’t mind extending medical, food and clothing to the innocent caught in the middle of Syrian’s Civil War providing that help, at least for the time being; is not in Syria itself. The American people no longer trust any of the factions in the Syrian Civil War and want no part in it. The American people all agree that if the USA’s involvement would make a positive difference for the innocent Syrian’s still within the Syrian boarders, caught in the middle of your government’s mess we would certainly make every effort to do so. As things stand right now none of the fighting factions in Syria exhibits any promises for a healthy growing Syrian country.
