The 65th Emmy Awards
Watched, waited and wondered about televisions next era during the Emmy's last night! Times are a changin' in television. The TV set itself, which was called the "tube" years ago is now replaced with iPads and iPhones. We can watch almost anything on demand or on the go! That was the theme presented last night during one of Neil Patrick Harris's opening skits.
Congratulations to all the winners. Best drama, "Breaking Bad", a nice way to end their show. Best Comedy, "Modern Family" once again!
The only part of the show that stood out for me last night, was the standing ovation received by Bob Newhart (84 years young) who won his first Emmy for his guest-starring role in “The Big Bang Theory.” The award was presented last week before the televised show at a separate awards ceremony. It was touching as you could see him wipe away his tears of appreciation for his standing ovation.
Have to give Will Ferrell credit for making everyone so relaxed at the end of the show, with his casual attire (shorts and a t shirt) and his kids! Great presenter!
Again, congratulations to all the winners for their fine performances and devotion to the arts.
