Roland Park Place (RPP), the only not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Baltimore City, kicked-off National Active Aging Week with the help of U.S. Congressman John Sarbanes (D-Md.) and Secretary Gloria Lawlah, Maryland Department of Aging, on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013. Active Aging Week promotes the vision of all individuals—regardless of age, socioeconomic status or health—fully engaging in life. Following brief remarks to the RPP community, Secretary Lawlah led Active Aging Week participants in a warm-up with Fitness and Aquatics Manager, Valencio Jackson. The group then took a walk around the beautiful landscaped grounds of Roland Park Place. The program and walk helped to officially kick-off the week’s activities at RPP.
