    Burj Khalifa

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Freelance journalist PGPescali captured these stunning images of Dubai's tallest and most iconic building, the Burj Khalifa, while on a travel stopover from Japan. "The Burj Khalifa stretches out to the sky like a thin needle," he says. "If you look it from far away you are going to ask yourself -- how it can stand up? It seems it could fall down just by a gust of wind." His third image was featured as CNN's Travel Photo of the Day for November 6, 2013.

Burj Khalifa is the world's tallest building and can be seen from km far away. Its original name was Burj Dubai, but it was renamed after Abu Dabi's Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahayan, who saved Dubai from bankrupt in 2009. To its construction were employed thousand of workers (mainly from the poorest Asian countries). Due hard working conditions, in march 2006 and novembre 2007 the construction workers went to strike. Only 17% of the 2.300.000 inhabitants od Dubai are emirates citizens. Inside Burj Khalifa there is one of the only two Armani Hotels (the other is in Milan) and an Observatory deck on level 124.
