CNN PRODUCER NOTE PatrycjaNews watched the annual Muslim Day Parade in Manhattan, where this year’s theme was Islam’s contribution to human civilization. PatrycjaNews, a freelance photographer, was surprised by the low turnout. “Usually parades bring a lot of spectators, but this time streets looked oddly deserted, even though the parade was taking place in the center of Midtown Manhattan,” she said. “Some marchers had feared protesters on Sunday but there was no protests around.”
