Unit 1011 Army Reserves had a few weeks full of Personal and Community Farewells. This unit like so many units across the US have to finalize all the paperwork for their families to continue while gone plus give great strength in their Farewells. The Community of Independence Ks gave them farewells at schools, dinners, and a Grand Send off service on Saturday as well as a 4:30 AM send off on Highway 160 going out of Independence. The community witness strength and will give strength to the families as this unit serves the 15 months in Afghanistan. As families were saying good bye at 3:30 in the dark on Sunday morning many were starting to gather in the Beautiful star light morning to witness the buses going out of town. The Hall family pictured here had family time, picture time and said such good byes. I stood in all at the beautiful flags and sprit that Independence KS gave on this final week of prep for their trip.
