This iReport is part of an assignment:
ASSYRIANS START TO GAINING RECOGNITION
I am a proud Assyrian-American woman, and I'm happy to say I'm 100% Assyrian and the rest of my nation should be proud of who they are also. But how many Assyrian men and women will be able to say that in the years to come? We are in the midst of going extinct my people this can't happen. Our churches are being bombed in the middle east, our women raped, our people killed everyday. In Syria two days ago 200 Assyrians were killed why is the news not talking about it?
When I speak Assyrian I feel empowered knowing how great we were and powerful, we are nation in which our ancestors were kings and queens, along with a bloodline leading all the way back to the original people of the world the cradle of civilization. Trust me we can get our land back if we make the effort! We can't disagree with one another though, We are under ONE name ASSYRIAN, remember "united we stand divided we fall"! Lets stick together and help one another and get whats rightfully ours, OUR LAND! We need to ask America for help, go straight to the white house, we have the platform for it. Anna Esho, Sargon Dadisho are powerful Assyrian politicians who can help us, we must reach out to them! Assyrian's deserve and demand recognition for what is happening to us and DEMAND our own land.
This story I wrote is a start to what could be a promising outcome for my people. If my generation does'nt fight for our rights and speak up, our people will lose hope. Im here to bring hope into the Assyrian people's hearts, lets all try to get our message across to the USA. Write stories, letters to the white house, or right here on CNN Ireport. No one will help you if you don't ask for it!
God Bless the Assyrians around the world and the USA
