Auckland, New Zealand
This iReport is part of an assignment:
Tell us the Good Stuff!
"I feel blessed," says New Zealander Mark Brewer
As a photographer for Phoenix Photo Studios, I have had the pleasure and opportunity to see most parts of New Zealand, always armed with my camera.
My son, Mark Brewer, Jr. has been travelled with me throughout my professional career during the summer holidays.
Our trips around New Zealand have been both inspring and humbling. The people we have met along the way are warm and open, and meeting new people always gives me a sense of pride for humanity. Too often people are cold, with walls to protect them from others. This is not helpful for our society, and we need to overcome this lack of empathy.
The Phoenix Photo Studio has been my reason to see as much of New Zealand, as the assignments we cover are scattered throughout the country. I typically work out of Auckland but have travelled to Queenstown and Christchurch on may occasions, often with Mark Jr.
Growing up in New Zealand can be an adventurous time for boys, with plenty of wilderness and outback to explore. I feel blessed to be able to share our geat nation with my son.
