Fire Damages Oroville Home
The blaze threatened several homes, damaging a mobile home. Two outbuildings and multiple pieces of equipment were destroyed in the fire as well. In all, 14 acres were burned as a result of winds reaching up to 10 miles per hour.
Firefighters were vigilant in battling the blaze, saving the other homes surrounding the area. The fire was contained by 3:00 p.m.; however, a large pile of tires smoldered for hours.
Ten fire engines, 2 water tenders, and 2 dozers were used to put the fire out. Multiple agencies joined in the efforts including the California Highway Patrol, Butte County Sheriff’s Department, Oroville Fire Department, Pacific Gas & Electric, Butte County Air Quality Management District, Butte County Code Enforcement, and volunteers from Butte Valley and Cherokee.
