As a member of the Drambuie (popular Scotch Whisky Liqueur) marketing team in the US, I attended the 2004 Drambuie Open- an ice golf tournament held in the city of Longyearbyen on the island of Svalbard, Norway. Located north of mainland Europe, it is about midway between mainland Norway and the North Pole. Players played on frozen ocean, the golf balls were bright orange (to enable players to differentiate them from the white snow laden background) and the polar bear spotters watched carefully for potential threats. Yes. That was all for business.
