This iReport is part of an assignment:
The Onus should be on the Senate and President to get rid of what the Majority does not Want
The Supreme Court said it would be up to voters and their Representatives to decide whether or not the law is a wise one. Despite the fact that Obama won reelection and the Senate remains in control of the Democrats does not mean that they were voted in solely to keep Obamacare in place. General elections are about a multitude of issues, not just one. Polls clearly showed then, during the election cycle, and now that Obamacare is not popular among the majority of citizens.
The Republicans in the House are actually doing everything they can to satisfy the majority of Americans on this issue. They have voted for repeal many times and the Democratic Senate has voted it down, against the will of their constituents. Then the Republicans tried to compromise to fund the government except Obamacare. The Democratic Senate again voted against the will of the majority.
Now there is a debate in the House to compromise again to delay Obamacare for everyone by a year and fund the government. Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says it is pointless probably meaning he will have the Democrats vote it down, and against the will of the majority, again. The White House says that they would veto such a bill, against the majority of Americans, if it made it to his desk.
So who is really on the side of the majority of Americans when it comes to Obamacare?
Nobody really wants the government to shut down except the crazies on both the right and left. Nobody wants the US to default on its already accumulated debts, which Obamacare would be one, except the extreme crazies on the right and left. The vast majority of Americans want the government running and paying its debts, but they also want to get rid of Obamacare one way or another.
Both can be done. The Republicans have agreed to do both. Why do the Democrats continue to dictate against the will of the majority of Americans?
