For many years, I worked to become a published author with some minimal success and a TON of rejections. And then Amazon made it possible for authors to publish direct to readers, and my career took off in ways I never could've imagined. In 2010, I made a mere $2,500 on my books, and called myself a "low four-figure thousandaire." In 2013, I will make more than $3 million on my books. I now have two full-time employees working with me, three part-timers, I'm a New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of nearly 30 books, and I've been picked up by a major New York publisher for a new series that debuts next year. Best of all? I quit my day job at the end of 2011 to write full time. My life today is a dream come true, and it's all becauseI never gave up on my passion, even while working full time and raising two kids. I recently hit a huge milestone of 1 million e-book sales of my self-published McCarthys of Gansett Island Series. Book 1, Maid for Love, was rejected by every publisher in the romance business. For that I am now eternally grateful. Find out more about my books at marieforce.com.
