NYC streets go to the dogs!

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     RVCFOTO says the “Strut your Mutt” festival in New York City over the September 28 weekend was full of fun and laughter. She estimates around 10,000 dogs attended the event. The event included competitions like a dog dancing contest and more. 'New York is one of the most dog-friendly cities in the US. Just go around any street corner and you will find several people walking their dogs,' she said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

Hudson River Park’s Pier 84 went to the dogs yesterday September 28th for their 3rd annual “Strut your Mutt” organized by Best Friend Animal Society.

The event was from 8 am to 1 pm which started with the 2 mile walk and afterwards with celebrations at the park. Prizes were given for the best kissing, look-alike and dancing contest to the dogs and their owners.

Thousands of owners and their dogs attended this year’s walk. Everyone was on their best behavior considering so many different breeds and sizes of dogs.

Great fun day for a great cause!
