New Hope in Baghdad.. Books Are Alive Again

With a huge participation of citizens and families who has been awaiting this civilian campaign to be launched, the group of (I AM Iraqi ... I read) organized Baghdad reading festival for the second year and made it clear that their goal is to revive a national day of reading.
It begins with a campaign on Facebook launched by a group of Iraqi activists to inspire every educated person in Iraq to read in order to spread the culture of reading into Iraqi community, one of the participants in this event, Mustafa Talib, said that this event is a nationwide campaign, aims at inspiring more Iraqis to discover or rediscover the pleasure of reading.
The founders of the campaign said that it has deleted all the ideological differences by encouraging the spirit of reading among Iraqis.
They added that some people might think that the time is not suitable for the establishment of such campaigns in Baghdad, because of the security conditions but reading is the best solution to cancel the isolation of the human mind, reading will create life against death and will terminate the political conflicts.
The people who organized this campaign distributed books among participants; these books were collected nationally via regular people, visitors of Al-Mutanabi Street, bookstores and libraries from around the country to encourage all Iraqis to pick up a book and get reading.
