I am currently uninsured. I am 52 years old and have worked hard since the age of 15. I have now been unable to work in over 2 years due to several serious health issues, and am fighting for disability, but have not yet been approved. I have no income and rely on friends to get by on a monthly basis. I see doctors when I can, but it costs me $75 -$100 cash each time I visit them. I would LOVE to have health insurance to assist me with the costs, but I have no idea how I'm supposed to pay for it!! I hope that there are options for those such as myself, but I have homework to do to find it out. The news talks about requiring insurance and some of the projected costs, but I hear nothing about what the underemployed or unemployed are supposed to do. And as for myself, as I sit in limbo awaiting the Federal Government to make a decision on my disability, I'm afraid I'll be "falling through the cracks."
