Obamacare: Your story
In need of some Financial Help
HI my name is Angie.
I am on this site in search of a kidney donor and some monetary help.
Blood type B+
Me and my 14 year old are currently homeless because of my end stage renal kidney disease. As you can see from my video and photo that my kidney disease has me swollen in the face.
I just need some help buying a newer model car and finding a home for us.
I am not a selfish person. I know a lot of other people that are on the dialysis machine so anyone that gives to my campaign, Please split the money in half and give the other half to the kidney foundation and mention my name on your donation. So for example if you want to donate $10.00 to me. Donate $5 for me and $5 to the kidney foundation.
I am upset with the news media because they won't tell my story, but I turn on the news and I see a mayor cat bitten by a dog story instead. As if my life is worth less than a cats.
I can't work because I have to go to dialysis every other day and I spend 4 hours on the machine. Now I am on the machine Monday, Wednesday and Friday. My social security is not enough because I have only worked about 20 years. My daughters father died over 13 years ago because he didn't have good insurance. So when the doctor's told him that his heart was weak and he didn't have any blood clots after he had just taken a test that also cleared him. But the coroner said that he had a blood clot that had been on his heart over at least a month. He died at home thinking that the hospital couldn't help him. I have had to do everything by myself. I have been working and going to school and taking care of 3 kids for over 23 years. Most people have their parents to help them through times like this but my mother died in September of 2009 because she didn't have any insurance so she tried to home medicate herself. She thought that the boils on her legs were just infection coming out. So she bought boil ease to cure them but she had cancer the entire time and my father is an ex-marine with P.T.S.D. and is a schizophrenic. (as I type this(11/09/13) he is in the Navy Hospital in Mississippi dying right now. My sister called me at 7:00 last night and told me that the hospital said for the family to come down there. I am almost 4 hours away and like I said on here my car is a 1991 and it's been running hot. NO money to fix it. So I won't be able to see him before he dies or make it to his funeral. I have no extra money for that.) The VA handles all of his money therefore he can't help me and also because he was running around town writing bad checks to people and businesses when he was off his medications. The VA told my youngest sister that my father couldn't even lend me the money to get a new place to stay because he can only spend his money on himself and if the money isn't for him then he couldn't spend it on anyone else. He called me last year and told me not to ask him for anything else. At that time the social security office had accidentally taken me off of my insurance and I had no money for medications and these were medications that I had to have, meaning it was a matter of my life or death and I had asked him for some money to get some of the medicines and all of them were very expensive. Just my sensipar to regulate my thyroid is almost $300.00 for example, that's about half of a person's rent amount and that's just one medication and I was taking 20 different ones at first.
With a new kidney I can start back working and making more money than what social security is currently paying me. As sick as I am right now, I am still trying to go back to work. I have been registered with temp agencies for years now. We lost our home when I got sick. The sad thing is, I paid my rent on time and sometimes early for over 2 1/2 years and the manager still put us out when I got one month behind. I only got behind because I didn't have any insurance when my kidneys went out on me and I had to pay cash for my medications at the time. I almost died because they wouldn't do the surgery to dialyze me until I had insurance. So I had to wait until the social security office approved my disability which took three months because the agent at the office sent my record request to the wrong hospital. The only difference was in the name, one hospital was named East and the other was South.
