This iReport is part of an assignment:
Your questions for the Ghanaian president
New President, New Schools?
He proposed a plan to establish 200 Senior High Schools (SHS) in districts with and without pre-existing secondary schools by the end of his term, if elected.
One year later and recently-elected, President Mahama's plan has begun: 50 SHS have been built in a variety of districts.
What will the impact of these new high schools be upon the educational system in Ghana? Will it help or hurt the districts with/without pre-existing secondary schools? Furthermore, what will be the impact upon the rest of the countries in Africa -- especially those neighboring Ghana?
