Obamacare: Your story
I was CEO of my own company and could not get insurance
After many years of living with no insurance I found that the only way I could get insurance was to get another job with an established company and join under their group plan after a year waiting period. I no longer have my own business and work for another company just to have medical insurance until I reach 65 and qualify for Medicare. Yes there are issues with the Affordable Health Care Act that may need to be amended over time. Once faced with the reality of the alternatives you realize that a flawed program that guarantees insurance for all Americans is far better than allowing insurance companies to simply deny coverage or price people out of the market to reduce their risks and increase their profits. The sad reality of American history has always been that those with enough money can buy the political influence necessary to make laws that protect the wealthy at the expense of the poor and middle class. That is one reality that hasn't changed in over 200 years and is clearly demonstrated by their ability to even shut down the government if they don't get what they want. At some point "We the people" must take back control of our government from special interests and their paid political propaganda campaigns.
