Obamacare: Your story
self employed and uninsured
My husband and I are self employed, and have been for years. We have managed to create a savings for hard times and old age. We do not invest this savings, because we are in our 50's, and work has slowed down. We have had to dip into our savings from time to time, so we like to keep it available. We use our savings for medical expenses, as cash payers. We cannot afford to pay a monthly medical insurance payment for the both of us with our actual income at this time. Our savings disqualifies us for State medical provided for low income. If we use our savings for medical insurance, it will all be gone within less than ten years. We will then have nothing for old age, hard times, or disability. Obama care will push us into becoming poor government dependents .
