If the Affordable Care Act is as "good" as they keep saying it is, why would the "Senate" continue to decline the last proposal presented by the House just before midnight? This proposal included funding for the Affordable Care Act, and it also required members of Congress, their staff, the President, and big business, to abide by the same laws as the rest of us. I have watched reporter after reporter, station after station, tip toe around the above question and avoid getting to the bottom of the real reason they did not want to be on this plan. They have yet to explain why a special exemption was given to them and their big business buddies in the first place. I could not wait to see how they would handle the last proposal presented to them before the deadline Monday night. I thought if they did not pass that proposal the media would eat them alive because they would have no way of explaining how they could force this law on every American but exclude themselves in the process. How would they explain the plan was great for all of American, but not good enough for them? I was stunned and very, very upset after watching station after station ignore the elephant in the room and give the Senate and President yet another pass. This statement/question was always avoided, "the Senate had the same opportunity as the House did to avoid the government from shutting down. All the Senate had to do was pass the bill that would not allow anyone being exempt from the plan. Is there something in the bill that you aren't telling us that made you ask for you and your staff to be exempt from the law? What aren't you telling us that could have been what seems like an easy solution by accepting the last proposal and would have avoided this base, yet you chose to continue giving yourselves, your staff, the President and your big business buddies the exemption and different health care options and allow the government to shut down. Can you give us a valid explanation for the exemption without the blame card? Why do you insist on being exempt from this plan? It is hard to watch and listen to the President repeatedly put the blame on others while he refuses to discuss any type of resolution. The comparison he made to Apple was ridiculous. Apple has been a successful business because of the hard work and dedication of it's owners, employees and experts in that field that know the products and strive to improve it for their customers to make them want to come back. Unlike the government, that doesn't listen to the folks that pay their salaries, tries to tell them what is or isn't working, only to continue to see more bad ideas put into place that cost billions of dollars wasted on bankrupt companies that accomplish absolutely nothing and the persons in charge of those projects never punished for the millions of dollars that disappear in the process. Bottom line, the democrats need to stop being so arrogant, be forced to abide by the law they wrote and take the same health coverage we have to abide by, pass a new law stating when the government shuts down, so does their salary. If employees across American had the same low job approval ratings as Congress and the President has had and continues to have, would the employer still be in business if he allowed those employee to continue to work? Absolutely not, if so, the employer would be out of business. Stop being babies, stop thinking of me, myself and I, and go in thinking of your country and remember the oath you took when you were sworn into office. Then and maybe then, you will accomplish something. Maybe. We are fed up, had it. The bias media continue to blame the Republican party, however, I am a democrat, but I applaud them for not giving in to the other side because they were willing to take the same coverage and avoid the shut down. WHY DIDN'T the other side BUDGE? Answer that please. Thank you. Twinsmom92
