This iReport is part of an assignment:
Shutdown over: What next?
Required by law...
I'm in full agreement that more conversations about many things, including the ACA, need to continue, but this is neither the time nor the place. Setting conditions for passing the federal budget is the equivalent of ordinary citizens saying that they'll only pay their taxes if they don't have to pay for some part of if that they personally disagree with.
I have a grandfather that served his time in the military, can no longer work due to Alzheimer's Disease, and relies on his benefit checks from the VA to assist with his care. I also have a 4 year old in Pre-K at school. It is them and those like them that will pay the price if Congress continues in this way. Get your acts together already, get the budget passed, and THEN have your debates!
