When five-year-old's refuse to be nice, or cooperate you take away their favorite toy until they earn it back. I figure that sense congress is pretty much acting like a bunch of five-year-old's we should just use the same philosophy. And what's congresses favorite toy? Money. Stop paying congress and I'm almost positive that that the government shutdown will be done in about 24 hours. Beyond congresses obvious inability to compromise, using the shutdown of the government as leverage to get your own agenda passes is absolutely ridiculous and childish. Right now a group of people refuse to come to reasonable solution because they want the affordable care act to be demolished sighting that people want it out even though 72 percent of Americans are against the government shutdown in order to get the affordable care act out is manipulation. Beyond that many people don’t even fully understand what ‘obamacare’ really is. And why is no one up in arms about the fact that car insurance is required. Yes, you may be young and healthy now, but imagine someone comes and shoots up your school or workplace. Or you get cancer. Suddenly now you’re drowning in debt. One of the main reasons that people opposing ‘obamacare’ state is that it is socialist. That word scares people, even congress people, because it is associated with communism. Socialism and communism, however, are completely different things. And you would think that congressmen and women with political science degrees would know this. The fundamental difference between these two systems is that socialism is an economic system whereas communism is a philosophical form of government. That is why communism does not work. Full socialism would never work in the United States, due to our extreme biodiversity. Semi-socialism and socialistic laws however would work. Look at the statistics in Scandinavian countries, especially Finland. Finland is top in education in the world, has a booming economy, and has an extremely high employment rate and his one of the healthiest countries in the world. Finally, I just want to stress that it was passed. The affordable care act is a law. You win some, you loose some, and yes, you can try, try again, but no one ever said that it’s okay to shut down the government in order to get what you want. That is selfish, and I don’t want someone who is willing to risk the fate of our economy because they want what they want. Just some thoughts from a 16-year-old.
