I work as a Navy contractor for a Naval Hospital, and though i am one of the lucky few who gets to go to work and get paid, i'm scared that i'll get a phone call in the middle of the night saying not to report to work, if congress cant meet in the middle and come to a resolution. This is shutdown is absolutely detrimental to our economy! For example...even though i'm still working and drawing a paycheck, i'm not going to spend any of it, except to pay my day-to-day living expenses, simply because the government could default on our FY14 contract if this shutdown drags on too long. I'm just one person. But i know there are thousands of individuals - just like me - who are afraid to spend any money as a result of the congressional conflict. So please....for the sake of continuing to survive, please think of the american people and what we are going thru and come to a peaceful resolution. I have severe rheumatoid arthritis and i live alone....i only have one income. If i end up losing my income, then i cant get my medicine. I cant eat. I wont be able to pay for a roof over my head. I wont have a car to drive. I wont be able to have my basic needs met. So please - for the sake of the american people like me, please set aside your differences and do the right thing.
