This iReport is part of an assignment:
Shutdown over: What next?
Let it Roll
I am now forced to buy something i will never get to use, and my annual income gets reduced by ten percent. I guess the only choice i have now is which of my utilities do i live without, electric, or heat? Maybe i will have to sell my car so i dont have anymore repair bills or insurance, which will lead me to lose my job, and put me back into a life of dependency that i busted my butt for 8 years to get out of.
As for the rest of the symptoms of the shutdown, like non essential employees losing pay. In the private sector, the real working class, when we are laid off from our jobs, we apply for unemployment. We apply for welfare assistance, and we look for other work. Since when do non essential federal employees deserve the efforts of the media to get their jobs back? Where is CNN and Fox news when average people are laid off from their jobs? What puts these non essential employees on a pedestal higher than the rest of the nations middle class workforce? If every middle class worker would just stop working, that would cripple the nation. A few thousand IRS agents and EPA workers are not sending the economy into a downward spiral.
Let the shutdown continue....I feel sympathy for those who are being affected, even though you never thought once about the millions of others in this nation who have experienced the same troubles you are at this time. But we carried on and didnt stomp our feet and whine about it, we perservered and pulled through.
And to Harry Reid. Just because CNN pulled all the links to your interview earlier when you placed eleven hundred Dulles Air Force Base employees over the cancer stricken children being denied treatment........doesnt mean some of us didnt take note of it. Expect a lot of hate mail from cancer patients around the nation.
