I'm not exactly clear on what's what in Washington, but it's time to make up and put all this behind us. I'm a college student and the business office at my school indicated that we won't receive our refund checks until the government gets back on track. We students depend on those refunds for textbooks and other supplies we need for class; even more, single parents in college depend on that money to take care of their children and make sure food is on the table and a roof is over their heads. I am not writing just so college students can receive their refunds. I'm writing to address my point and I will state it as plain and simple as I can: This shutdown is ridiculous, unnecessary, and has to end now. The government needs to get back on track and operating because pretty soon the shutdown is going to effect those that are on government dependence (SNAP benefits, WIC, Unemployment, Disability, Welfare, Social Security). Those in government need to recognize the fact that many people won't be able to survive in an economy with a non-operating government. Millions of families, single parents, disabled citizens, and yes, college students, will be effected by the shutdown. President Obama has tried his best, but this dispute between the government is very unnecessary. We need to end this dispute now before something tragic happens because when you look at it, our country is now vulnerable to an outside threat. Please, for the sake of everyone in this country, end the dispute. Come to some form of agreement and end this madness. It may not be showing but people are crying out with prayer that this country will not fall apart because we are definitely headed in that direction. I for one do not want to see riots, vandalism, robberies, or even death; even though we aren't at that point now, it's very likely to happen. This goes out to everyone in the government: Please come to a mutual agreement so we can have a better tomorrow.
