What’s the difference between having mandatory car insurance and mandatory health insurance? Insurance is a business whether it’s car insurance or health insurance, they don’t care a lick about your health, they want to profit. If we have more people insured they will have to fight for your business, supply and demand. If you are caught driving without car insurance you get a ticket (fine) so my question is what’s the difference? I have car insurance and I haven’t had a major incident (Thank GOD) so why do I need it? Why is there a mandated law requiring us to have car insurance? Wouldn't it be the same as mandating everyone to have at least a BASIC health insurance? They are both for preventive measures; you might not need it but in case of a severe situation/ incident happens guess what you have it. (Again preventive measurements). If you have insurance great keep it, this is for people that are not able to get insurance mainly because they have a preexisting condition and insurance companies do not want to insure them (high risk they might spend more money on them, then what they are going to make on them), people that are to poor can have it and not hick up the E.R. among others whom can not afford insurance for one reason or another. Is it going to be perfect since day one? What policy/ law has been perfect since day one? That is why we have amendments for and they are used all the time. This would be no different. Do they really expect me to believe that they are doing this for the “American people” yea the American people in their pockets, who have business to lose (stocks) The contingents they are doing this for I am sure are well to do. "For the people".. right.. It's not for the people with pre existing conditions that can not get health insurance that's for sure!
