China: a common mountain scene
Massive storms and floods wash out everything here. Nothing is safe. Not New Orleans, Calgary, Paris, Bali, Indonesia or Fukushima. Not even Lhasa.
Indeed, where we were going to buy a house at Captain Cook, , Hawaii the homes were all washed into the sea by the great tsunami of 2010.
There are no safe places to live, invest: nor are there totally safe careers.
So you have a family in New York and you are a senior fire fighter looking forward to retirement and a pension plan. Then you are ordered to the two towers on 9/11 and you think "everything is going to be ok." Right.
