To everyone in Washingon - Republicans and Democrats, I was extremely disappointed to learn that once again today you all refuse to budge even one inch for the sake of starting up the government and averting the biggest financial crisis that we may still be facing! Not only are you not willing to compromise but you are digging in your heals even deeper and becoming more stubborn than ever. This is totally unacceptable! You all keep warning what will happen if you don't act but you don't actually do anything because neither side will yield. Here's another illustration of a fire - suppose I'm trapped on the 2nd floor of a burning house and the firefighters yell up to me "If we don't get you down you will die" but no one comes up to get me, instead the firefighters do nothing but argue on which ladder and hose to use. Meanwhile I burn to death. Ridiculous, right? Well, that's what you all are doing. I understand your dispute is about Obamacare. Well, let me say I agree with those of you who are Republicans and who are opposed to it. I agree that the system is not good and healthcare overall needs to be fixed, but THIS IS NEITHER THE TIME NOR THE PLACE to be arguing about that. Here's another illustration - a house catches on fire, but instead of calling 911 the occupants of the house argue over what they are going to fix in the house or what color to paint it after it gets fixed up again. Ridiculous right? Of course it is! But that's what you all are doing. If the house is on fire, the last thing to be thinking about is what you're going to do to it later on - you got to call the 911 and get the firefighters over here ASAP to put out the fire. Then later on, you think about how you're going to fix it up. In essence, all of you in Washington don't seem to care that our economy is on fire and you're only worried about what color you're going to paint it after it's fixed. Let me just say I have been very faithfully working hard, paying my taxes, and obeying the laws of the land, fulfilling my civic responsibilities, but you have let me and all of the Americans down and I am very disappointed. This is no way to repay honest, hard working people. Every day that I hear the news and learn that you all are becoming more and more stubborn and unyielding about your positions and absolutely REFUSING to give in even a little, I become more and more disallusioned, disappointed, and sometimes downright angry with you, like I'm sure most Americans feel. Don't forget, we Americans have the power to vote you out of office come election time. If you keep being as stubborn as you are and the government shutdown never ends or the country defaults on it debt, and as a result I lose my job and my parents lose their social security and medicare, I will vote every last one of you out and I will encourage as many people as I can to do the same. If you are not going to do your jobs we will vote you all out and replace you with people who will. That's all I want to say for now.
