Someone in the press should look into the number of federal contractors (from private industry) that are out of work now, due to the shutdown. My guess is that there are more than 400,000 contractors impacted (but not verified). These contractors that work in all agencies of the government, will eventually be called back to work once the shutdown is lifted, but most, if not all, will *not* be eligible to back pay like the federal workforce will! These contractors hold positions at all professional levels and are direct contributors to the country's economy. This is a much bigger and more important story than the national parks being shut down
