Well, I applied using the healthcare.gov website and got my first and only plan response. No insurance company will apparently quote me coverage. I was told to seek help through Medicaid of Ohio. Maybe because I clicked the box saying I am disabled with a mental issue on the application. I do get SSDI and a Medicare Advantage plan. But, I wanted that insurance for less than my cell phone bill which is $50 per month. I currently pay the Medicare part B premium of $104 per month and copays/deductibles for my plan. My copay for my medicine alone is about $300 per month most of the year. I thought insurance companies were suppose to compete for my business. I really don't blame them because they'd lose money on me with one hospital stay and there have been many recently. I make too much on SSDI to qualify for Medicaid so basically it was a worthless exercise for me. Wait, I learned how bad the Obamacare rollout is and we expect the doctors to not be overwhelmed in 2014? I really hope others find some success in a better and lower cost plan. I should have known better than to get false hopes up.
