Miriam Carey and the tragedy on Capitol Hill: Reopening the Conversation about Postpartum Depression
In light of recent tragic events involving Miriam Carey and Capitol Hill, it has re-opened the dialogue about postpartum depression and in this case postpartum psychosis. Just by the statistics, it seems that we will all know or know of a woman dealing with baby blues, postpartum depression and/or even postpartum psychosis. How do start/approach conversations with women we know that had a baby about baby blues, postpartum depression without inferring that she may have postpartum psychosis? How do we normalize the phrase postpartum depression? Suggestions?
