CNN PRODUCER NOTE Barry Stevens was watching a Border Collie herding competition in Middletown, Virginia, this weekend when an adorable moment stopped the run. A dog was herding sheep through the course, when it paused and touched noses with the lead sheep, with the other sheep lined up behind. The moment drew a collective “awwww” from the crowd. Stevens, who adores Border Collies but doesn’t have the space to own one, said he was pleased to have caught the moment on camera. “It reminded me of a scene from the movie ‘Babe,’” he said.

It was a full day at the Montpelier Border Collie competition, near James Madison's Montpelier in Virginia, with dozens of dogs and handlers trying to herd sheep through a complicated course. The dogs get cues from there masters and encourage, maybe intimidate, the sheep around the course. Then this rare moment occurred ... where it looks like a little détente is going on. It drew an "awwwww" from the spectators, then dog and sheep were off to the business at hand. Maybe Congress could take this example and take a time out to just rub noses.
