This iReport is part of an assignment:
Now For the Reality Check
Here is the truth that many people do not want to face and it really is a reality check. Since the World Wars the American Government has bailed the American people out of some really tough and often times dangerous situations.
The Government makes certain that your water stays clean and clear of diseases and other nasty things that flow through your tap at home and at work. or at your children’s schools.
The Government provides the free breakfasts and lunches to your children in schools.
Almost all schools are subsidized by the government so your child can go to school and get that education that will hopefully earn them a better way of life.
The Government sends help, both physical and financial; to those in dire need after disasters hit whether natural or not.
The Government fixes your roads, highways, bridges, aqueducts, and more for your continued use.
The Government subsidizes the home your elderly parent and or grandparent resides in at the moment so you have the freedom to go and do what you want to.
The Government subsidizes the entire medical profession; medicines included so many of you do not have to pay full price; lets face it most of us right now can’t pay full price.
The Government makes certain that the Emergency Services such as the Fire Departments, Police Departments, Military and more are well trained to handle just about any situation that happens.
In reality the Government has made certain that there have been jobs working for the Government that didn’t exist in the days before the World Wars to provide people with jobs to spend money in the private sectors in order to create the “monster” of a Government that people call it today.
How about Garbage Pick Up and Disposal? What about Scientific Projects that range from medical breakthroughs to the technological breakthroughs? These things cannot happen without Government assistances.
All of these afore mentioned things are in existence because the Government of the United States of America has helped them along with financial aid of one kind or another. If we allow this atrocity to take place now where will we be? What will happen to you if you get a really severe Winter Storm that freezes your city, town or community; or a Tornado takes out your city, town or community; or a flood; or a major earthquake? Where will you go? How will you live? How will you care for your children after everything is destroyed? The Government has always been there to fall back on as a safety net, but now it is jeopardy of not being able to help anybody. Do we stand behind this monster we allowed to grow and in many ways helped to nurture? Is it a perfect Government? No, but it is our Government. How do you vote; stand with and eventually improve it; or stand against and watch everything fall apart?
