CREMA – A “one nite only” live show for Chiamata Urgente, historical band from Crema, They will gig on Friday Dec. 6th at Babalula at 10,00 pm., to celebrate 30 years of this band who marked the story of the music in the 80s. The band met for the first time last summer, after almost 20 years since the breakup. Since then, the decision taken to be back together again for a concert to really and truly celebrate three decades of history bringing back on stage those songs which made the italian NEW WAVE story. Six are the components that during these years, have been following different paths : someone became a successful expert, someone else decided to leave the town and follow other destinations. The line-up of the band is as follow: Paolo Alpiani lead voice and guitar, Carlo Schira on the keyboards Marco Bertolotti on guitar, Marco Giovanetti on bass guitar, Andrea Marchesetti on saxophone, Enrico Zaninelli on drums.
Since some weeks, the band has been busy on two fronts: be confident again with the old repertoire and spread the news to old and new fans that the band is back on track. The guys are regularly rehearsing at Garage Sala Prove in Izano and a Facebook page has been created (https://www.facebook.com/chiamata.urgente), where more than one hundred “likes” have been collected and where all news and info about the band are posted. The news of this “come back” has been reported also on other site like YouReporter and the CNN site related to breaking news from the world. Furthermore, on You Tube you can find a lot of “home-made” video of the old songs.
The live show on Dec. 6th will be completely dedicated to the 80s. In addition to Chiamata Urgente, you’ll see on stage The Overdreams and the White Noise. The first band, led by Andrea Spinelli, has solid roots in the 80’s and will perform Chiamata Urgente covers. The second, led by Anna Bianchi is formally and truly a blues band but will also try to cover Chiamata Urgente hits. Right after all gigs, a DJ set by Tony Mckenzie will complete this “back to 80’s” night!! This will be a free entry night.
Chiamata Urgente were formed towards the end of 1983 from the ashes of another band called The Shake. They are among the few to leave a real press proof, the hystorical single released by Toast Record from Turin, titled 1973/Frammenti di realtà. During their career they played live hundreds of concerts. Among the other we remember some like Porta Mosa Festival, Marterock in Crema, the one with another band from Crema the “ Deissi” at Arco della Pace in Milan and those at Bloom in Mezzago, an hystorical music club, very famous in the past and actually.
After the breakup and the moving to Bolzano of Paolo Alpiani, the lead singer of the band, some components continue to play together in different projects like Ultima Chiamata, White Noise, The Slaps and AQStick!
