Opposition leaders: This is the dirtiest election in the history of Azerbaijan
- Jareen, CNN iReport producer
As leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli said, the union of the opposition and successful campaign of Jamil Gasanli encouraged citizens to participate in the voting.
The presidential candidate of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) Jamil Gasanli voted on the 6th polling station of the 17th Yasamal District.
Coming out of the voting booth, he said: "Let this election benefit our people."
He also said there were reports from Baku and regions of mass violations during the vote.
"At some polling stations cases of massive ballot stuffing were recorded. Unfortunately, many government officials are involved in the fraud, becoming members of the gravest treason - the usurpation of power," said Gasanli.
He also expressed his disbelief to units conducting exit polls, which do not have the reputation of transparent companies.
5,145,643 people have right to vote in the country. The voters will cast ballots at 5,491 poling stations of 125 constituencies. 5,273 of the polling stations are permanent and 219 non-permanent.
